Google has added a new feature to its latest Android 8.1 Oreo version. This feature will tell users how fast the public open WiFi networks are available in mobile range. This feature has been introduced today. Once activated, this feature tells consumers how fast their close WiFi networks are.
The feature that displays this feature is something like this.
Status | Speed Range |
---|---|
Slow | 0 - 1 Mbps |
Ok | 1 Mbps - 5 Mbps |
Fast | 5 Mbps - 20 Mbps |
Very Fast | 20 Mbps + |
From this Status users will soon find out whether the mobile should be connected with this network or not. Unfortunately this feature does not work on password protected networks.
How to Deactive
Although this feature is awesome, but if for some reason, it does not want to use it, Settings> Network & Internet> Wi-Fi> Wi-Fi preferences> Advanced> Network Rating providers and selecting None option then it will deactive this feature.
